Dr. Paul Wade, our volunteer trainer, spoke at the annual fund raising event, Bangladesh Night 2011, a dinner ceremony organized by Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra (BACC) on July 2, 2011. About 300 members from the Canberra Bangladeshi Community, including dignitaries from ACT government and Bangladesh High Commission attended the event.Walk for Life received a donation of AUD 2500 after the presentation, and has been assured to receive further support from members.We thank BACC for their support of the Bangladesh Clubfoot Programme.

Seattle Rotary

At our meeting on May 23rd we will be honoring Khwaja Shamsuddin (Shams) for coordinating donations from 27 individuals from the Bangladesh community in Seattle. These donations will be used for the Bangladesh “Walk for Life” project.

Dinner at “Downes” Manor House

On 21st April 2012, 55 guests gathered at historic “Downes” Manor House, (built in 1692), to celebrate Walk for Life. The Parkers graciously allowed their home to be used for the event. Kate Lock was the event organizer. The evening raised 3400 pounds, way beyond expectations. An “Auction of Adventures” followed a wonderful 3-course meal and entertainment from a string quartet. Local students from Exeter College worked very hard as the waiters and waitresses. Local food suppliers strongly supported the event.

Dinner at Manchester UK

In July 2012 a dinner was held in Manchester UK to celebrate Walk for Life. The Guests of Honor were Sir Gerald Kaufman MP and Ms Arlene McCarthy, Member European Parliament.

Colin Macfarlane, Founder and Maruf Ahmed Chowdhury, WFL Clinic Manager, Sylhet thanked the many supporters for their generous support.
